Boxing Day

Well we had a wonderful Christmas Day. I just love the glowing lights that makes Christmas so nice.

This year we went for a lot of battery operated lights and candles which I really like as you can just leave them on and you don't have to worry about them burning down and people brushing past them.

And they even look good when it's not dark.

Anyway now it is boxing day. We got up and my lovely man cooked sausages for breakfast which we duly ate and then went on to have coffee and sweets (all very naughty, but very delicious). Still feeling rather stuffed at about midday we decided to suit and boot ourselves and go out for a walk with our little dog.

The sky was so blue and it was so lovely and bright. The sun was causing very long shadows as we walked.

Our little baby (our westie) just loved it so much. In her little pink coat, which I made for her a couple of years ago she attracts so much attention and people think she is a little puppy, but she 9 years old and still loves to have a stick thrown so she can run and fetch it. After eating all that rich food yesterday, and the sausages and sweets today, it was good to get out for a lovely walk today.

It was sad to see what damage the recent storms had caused. Trees had large limbs torn from them by the recent high winds.

The duck pond was looking fabulous today. The water was very high and reflections dazzled in the sunlight. There were a few people out and about enjoying the clean fresh air. This is a really lovely place to walk.

Well after our walk we came home, turned the heating up, had a lovely easy meal of cold meats and pickles (traditional for us on Boxing Day), watched a little telly and now I am going to settle down now and do my crochet (something nice and warm and snuggly which I will share with you later) and enjoy the rest of the day.

What a lovely lovely Christmas this has been x

The Finished Present

Well I'm back today and I can now show you a picture of the present that I finished last night. It has been wrapped and it has been given to Santa so it can be delivered to the recipient tomorrow (so exciting)

It is a scarf that I have knitted using sock yarn so it is super soft and cosy. I just love the autumnal colours. I knitted it in a 2 stitch rib. Just perfect. I hope they like it.

I finished it off by sewing in one of my DAP Home Crafts labels. My husband likes me to sew in these labels whenever possible.

Well Christmas Eve is now here and the presents are looking fabulous around the tree.

It is so exciting and such a wonderful time of year.

I will wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Last Present finished

Hello On this stormy night I have had the great pleasure of finishing off my last Christmas Present. I have had my knitting needles clicking away and in-between rows I have to confess that my fingers have dipped into the Christmas chocolates once or twice. Anyway my last homemade gift is now ready for wrapping, which my husband always does for me and then I will get Santa to deliver it to the lucky person. At the moment I cannot mention too much about it as the recipient may just read this blog.

I will post more later.

Keep safe
